Borussia Dortmund 0-3 Juventus: Tevez Grabs a Brace as Juve Breeze into the Quarter-Finals

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez scored twice as the Italian Serie A champions comfortably saw past a lacklustre Borussia Dortmund at the Westfalenstadion to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The visitors took the lead minutes into the game through Tevez, which made Dortmund's task of progressing even harder. Juventus took a 2-0 aggregate lead (1-0 on the night) into the break and their German counterparts showed little signs of getting themselves back into the last-16 clash.

The first-half saw the Old Lady miss several opportunities to double their lead. Stephan Lichtsteiner and Alvaro Morata came close in the opening 45 minutes of action, but Massimiliano Allegri’s side were held to just a solitary goal for their efforts.

After the break, Juventus continued their pursuit to get some daylight between them and Dortmund. Morata and defender Giorgio Chiellini had chances to add the the Italian’s lead, but were wasteful in front of goal when it mattered.

The former did finally tuck away one of his chances, however, in the 69th minute. Morata doubled Juve’s lead mid-way through the second half to all but seal the tie and Dortmund’s fate. Carlos Tevez scored his second of the game and Juventus’ third to seal an impressive away win for the Serie A giants.

Dortmund will be disappointed to have been humiliated in their own backyard, but Juve have shown they could go far in the competition now, and Tevez looks in fine form to get them there.
